Tour Finger Lakes Distillery

May 3, 2017 by Innkeeper

The Finger Lakes Distillery is located about one hour and fifteen minutes from the 1795 Acorn Inn. It’s a beautiful drive around Seneca Lake with plenty to do after this tour. Hike Watkins Glen, enjoy lunch at Dano’s Heuriger, a fabulous Austrian restaurant, visit wineries, take a boat tour on Seneca Lake, and the list goes on. If you wanted to take the 11:00 am tour, we could arrange for an early continental breakfast. But, you should have no time enjoying our full breakfast at 9:00 and making it to the 2:00 pm tour. Don’t forget, you do need reservations.

If you have an interest in spirits, this would be one of many great things to do while staying at the 1795 Acorn Inn and visiting New York’s Finger Lakes Region. Personally, I love their gin.

Constellation Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center

June 25, 2012 by Innkeeper

I’m so excited to see Sarah McLachlan and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra perform at the Constellation Brands Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC), a beautiful outdoor amphitheater in Canandaigua, New York.  The amphitheater was renovated a few years ago and a few thousand seats were added.  Now they attract more “big-name” performers such as Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Alicia Keys, and more.  They also still have their “Blasts From The Past” such as Journey, Moody Blues, B-52’s…

Earlier this month I saw Lady Antebellum and still am in awe.  It’s just the perfect size venue.  I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house… except for the lawn IF it’s raining.
